DESCRIPTION: Virginia State University's Small Farm Outreach Program and American Farmland Trust (AFT) are teaming up for a Women for the Land event in the Shenandoah Valley. Join other women and non-binary producers for a day of peer-to-peer learning at Revercomb Farms in Bridgewater, VA. Farm owner Mindy Lipinski will offer tours of her pastured pig and chicken operation while sharing about her value-added and educational offerings. Becky Gartner from Virginia Cooperative Extension will lead a hands-on session on water bath canning and food preservation. Participants will create and take home a seasonal apple product. AFT will share information about land access and land preservation resources. Enjoy a delicious locally-catered lunch and camaraderie with fellow farmers from the Valley and across the state of Virginia!
This is a free event designed to build community, share knowledge, and support resilient farm operations. Lunch and refreshments will be provided! Open to women and non-binary landowners, farmers, and aspiring producers. Space is limited - register soon!
