Soil Health Management in Vegetable and Cut Flower Systems

Join American Farmland Trust with special guests Steve Groff, Pennsylvania NRCS, and the Pennsylvania Soil Health Coalition for this online session designed to provide you with foundational training about how to apply soil health principles and practices in vegetable and cut flower systems.

We all know that healthy soils can have big benefits for water quality, climate mitigation, farm resilience and profitability. But it can be challenging to incorporate soil health principles into the fast-paced, sometimes tillage-intensive management systems common to vegetable and cut flower farms. Our trainers will share their experience engaging these producers in soil health conversations, including specific information about how to aim for tillage reduction and how to utilize the soil health principles to compensate for tillage in these management systems.
