Farmland for a New Generation: New York & New Jersey
Enter Farmland for a New Generation New York, a program coordinated by American Farmland Trust in partnership with the State of New York, agricultural organizations, land trusts, and others to help existing farmers, new farmers and younger generations of farm families access farmland, while supporting retiring farmers and landowners in successfully transferring their farms to the next generation.
The program allows AFT and a statewide network of Regional Navigators to play “matchmaker” by connecting farmland seekers with farmland owners. Launched in October 2018, there are nearly 200 farmers on the site seeking land in New York. With a little more time – maybe the next match will lead to a future Seal the Seasons grower!
We hope the stories of the stories of the challenges and solutions to farmers inspire you to join the No Farms, No Food movement. It takes all of us: consumers, businesses, and nonprofits to turn the tide and set a new course for agriculture across the country.
